Memorial Tournament a Great Success!

Life changes in an instant! February 10th 2018 changed Chrissy and Matt Kernaghan forever, as her husband Doug and daughter Avery were involved in a fatal car crash just outside Mt. Brydges.

Doug and Avery Kernaghan were travelling back to the Ontario Synchronized Skating Championships in Komoka from their home in Mount Brydges, only an 8 minute drive, but sadly didn’t make it. Both individuals were brought to Victoria Hospital due to their injuries, but tragically Avery passed away ER department when she arrived, and Doug passed away 45 days later in the Trauma unit.

Thanks to Carl and Ashley, the Magic Blades committee and Chrissy teamed up to host the first annual Avery & Doug Kernaghan Memorial Golf tourney for us today. Due to the time spent with the amazing team of doctors and nurses within the ICU and trauma departments, Chrissy wanted to give back to those that supported the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. As Avery passion was Synchronized Skating, the Magic Blades was the obvious choice in her honor.

The community support coupled with all the friends and family here today is truly inspiring. Thank you all for being part of this amazing day.
