The 2018 Gary Haves Memorial Award:
When one of our Magic Blades families loses one of their own family members, we are there to support them. When Amelia Haves lost her father to cancer in April of 2012, Gary generously made provisions to donate back to our Magic Blades teams in his name.
Magic Blades wanted to honor Gary by creating an annual award to be selected from an outstanding Magic Blades skater that demonstrates leadership, strength, optimism, perseverance and team spirit as Amelia did so incredibly while suffering the loss of her Dad.
This season our recipient exemplifies all these characteristics. A team leader, positive, helpful and strives to be better each skating day even through the most challenging season. We are very proud to give this award in memory of Gary to ALL members of the Pre-Novice Synchro team. Would the Pre-Novice team please come and accept the Gary Haves Memorial Award!

The Avery Kernaghan Award of Excellence has been donated by Chrissy and Mathew Kernaghan in honour of their beloved Avery.
Avery Kernaghan loved synchronized skating. Avery became a Magic Blade synchro skater at the age of 5 and never looked back. She had a spunk and passion for skating that came alive on her teams. She was eager and willing to try anything and would perform with a beauty and style of her own. Avery grew confidence and presence after attending the WOS Centre of Excellence.
Avery achieved so much in her short time and will be dearly missed.
2018 Pre Novice Winterfest Bronze Medalist
2018 Pre Novice Provincial Silver Medalist
2017 Pre Novice Provincial Champions
